Siding made for Lenoir City homes

Lenoir City calls itself the “Lakeway to the Smokies,” and the name fits. The Tennessee River and TVA’s Fort Loudoun and Watts Bar reservoirs form the city’s southern edge, Tellico Lake lies just to the west, and the national park is about 40 miles southeast. Water is the main attraction here. It is also the main thing your siding has to stand up to.

American Home is a locally owned siding company that has been working across East Tennessee since 1997. From our West Knoxville shop, Lenoir City is a straight run down I-75.

What Lake Living Does to an Exterior

Homes on or near the water see more of everything: morning fog that settles on the walls, wind-driven rain across open coves, and humidity that hangs on through the summer. Painted wood and thin, aging vinyl show it first. You may notice:

  • Mildew or green staining on the shady side of the house
  • Paint peeling from trim and fascia
  • Panels that rattle or work loose on the windward wall
  • Soft spots near decks, docks and lower courses where splashback collects

If any of that sounds familiar, it is worth checking what is happening behind the siding, not just on its surface.

Two Products Built for Wet Settings

Everlast Composite

Everlast composite siding is engineered not to soak up water, so it will not swell or rot the way wood can. It comes pre-finished, which means no repainting every few summers when the lake air wins.

Tando Shake and Stone

A lot of lake houses lean toward a cabin or lodge look. Tando shake and stone panels give you the texture of cedar shake or stacked stone without the maintenance real cedar demands. They work well on gables, around the foundation or as a full accent wall facing the water.

Plenty of homeowners combine the two: composite lap on the main walls, Tando at the gables and porch.

From Downtown Broadway to the Newer Corridors

Lenoir City has deep roots. William Ballard Lenoir settled the land in 1810, the city incorporated in 1907, and construction of Fort Loudoun Dam beginning in 1940 brought jobs and growth. The older residential streets near downtown Broadway (US 11) reflect that history.

More recently, the city annexed a five-mile stretch along US 321 out toward I-40, and newer subdivisions have filled in around it. Those homes often carry builder-grade siding that is reaching the point where fading and loose panels start to show.

Southwest of town, Tellico Village was established in 1986 on the shore of Tellico Reservoir and is run by its own property owners association. If you live there, or in any community with a POA or HOA, check its exterior rules before you settle on colors. We will bring samples and spec sheets for the review.

Do you cover Loudon and the Roane County edge of Lenoir City?

Yes. Lenoir City sits mostly in Loudon County with a small piece in Roane, and we serve both.

What is the best siding for a lake house?

Moisture resistance comes first. Composite and fiber cement products handle damp conditions well, and good flashing matters on every option.
