Why Everlast

The look of wood, without the upkeep

No painting, ever

Color runs through the board, so there is no scraping or caulking.

Shrugs off moisture

Composite boards don’t soak up water like wood.

Tough, thick boards

Much thicker than vinyl for a solid, quiet wall.

Fewer seams

12′ and 16′ lengths mean cleaner-looking walls.

What Everlast Is Made Of

Everlast Advanced Composite Siding is made by Chelsea Building Products. The manufacturer describes it as a co-extruded board with a mineral composite substrate and a 100% acrylic capstock. In plain terms: a dense, solid core with a tough, UV-resistant color layer on the outside.

Everlast Specs at a Glance

According to Everlast’s published specifications:

  • Thickness: 0.225″ for lap siding and 0.325″ for board and batten, several times thicker than typical vinyl.
  • Profiles: horizontal lap in 4-1/2″ and 6-7/8″ reveals, plus one-piece vertical board and batten with a 10-7/8″ reveal.
  • Lengths: 12′ and 16′ lap boards, which means fewer seams across a wall.
  • Texture: CedarTouch wood-grain surface.
  • Colors: a designer palette of solid colors that runs through the acrylic cap.
  • Upkeep: no scraping, caulking, or painting required.

The Manufacturer’s Warranty

Everlast carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty from Chelsea Building Products. Per the warranty document:

  • The original owner is covered for life against manufacturing defects, termite damage, rot, and delamination, including pre-approved labor and materials.
  • It includes fade protection and lifetime hail coverage for the original owner (replacement materials only, and only where homeowner’s insurance doesn’t cover it).
  • It transfers once to the next owner as a 50-year prorated warranty, with notice required within 45 days of the sale.

That’s the manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll give you the current warranty document with your estimate so you can read the details.

How Everlast Handles East Tennessee Conditions

Humidity and moisture: Everlast says its board is impervious to water and won’t bow, swell, split, or rot. That matters in the Tennessee Valley, where damp mornings and long humid stretches are hard on wood and some wood-based products.

Termites and insects: The manufacturer states Everlast resists wood-boring insects, and termite damage is specifically named in the warranty.

Summer storms: Everlast publishes tested wind-load values for each profile, and its thickness gives it a solid, rigid feel on the wall. Ask us how fastening choices affect wind performance on your house.

Hail: A thicker board is less likely to dent or crack than thin vinyl, and the warranty adds hail protection for the original owner.

Freeze-thaw: Because the board doesn’t absorb water, there’s nothing to freeze and expand inside it. Panels are installed to float, so they can move with temperature changes.

Who Everlast Is Best For

  • Homeowners who never want to paint or caulk siding again.
  • Homes that take a beating from storms, yard equipment, or kids’ ball games.
  • People who like the look of fiber cement but want a lighter, paint-free board.
  • Owners who plan to stay and want a lifetime warranty that includes labor.

Honest Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Thick, solid board with a realistic cedar texture.
  • No painting, scraping, or caulking.
  • Won’t rot, and resists insects and moisture.
  • Lifetime manufacturer’s warranty for the original owner, including fade and hail coverage.

Cons

  • Priced above vinyl, often similar to or above fiber cement.
  • Fewer profiles and colors than vinyl or Hardie.
  • You can’t easily change the color later the way you can repaint fiber cement.

What Everlast Siding Costs

Everlast sits in the upper range of the products we install. The final number depends on the size and height of your home, lap versus board and batten, trim and soffit work, and repairs to the wall underneath. We’ll give you a free, itemized estimate so you can compare it fairly against other options.

Everlast vs. Other Siding

Everlast vs. James Hardie: James Hardie fiber cement offers more styles, can be repainted, and is noncombustible. Everlast is lighter, never needs paint or caulk, and carries a lifetime warranty for the original owner.

Everlast vs. vinyl: Alside Odyssey Plus vinyl costs less and offers more colors. Everlast is a much thicker board that stands up better to impacts.

Our Installation Process

  • Free estimate: We measure, inspect your walls, and show you Everlast colors and profiles.
  • Removal and repair: Old siding comes off, and we fix any soft sheathing or rot we find.
  • Weather barrier: House wrap and flashing at every window, door, and roof line.
  • Installation: Boards are fastened through the center of the nailing channel so they float, with proper gaps at trim for thermal movement, per Everlast’s specifications.
  • Finish: Trim, soffit, cleanup, and a final walkthrough with you.

American Home Improvement put up the siding on my chalet. They did a professional job. Cleaned up afterward and the communication between company and owner was very good. I do recommend them and would use them again.
