Start With Your HOA, Not Your Color Chart

Farragut incorporated as a town in 1980, and many of its subdivisions have an active homeowners association with covenants that cover exterior changes.

Concord Hills is a good example. Its HOA tells residents that projects affecting the exterior may require architectural review and plans submitted to both the HOA and the Town of Farragut before work begins. Village Green, off Campbell Station Road, serves more than 400 families under its own bylaws and covenants. Fox Den, built around Fox Den Country Club’s 18-hole course, has an active HOA and homes ranging from traditional ranches to newer designs.

Every association writes its own rules, so here is how we help you work through yours:

• Pull your CC&Rs or design guidelines and look for anything on siding material, color, profile or trim.
• Pick two or three combinations that fit those rules. We bring physical samples so the committee sees the real product, not a screen.
• Submit the request with manufacturer spec sheets and color names. We will provide what you need.

Materials That Make Approvals Easier

Two products come up again and again in Farragut.

James Hardie fiber cement is familiar to many review committees. It comes in traditional lap, shingle and board-and-batten styles, and its look sits comfortably next to brick, which shows up on a lot of Farragut homes.

Between the Ridge and the River

Farragut sits in hilly country between Blackoak Ridge to the north and the Tennessee River, here called Fort Loudoun Lake, to the south.
